Hints to help you through the year

Put up your wipers before snow and ice

Feb 11, 2014 - 07:56 AM

You may have seen cars with windshield wipers up (off the windshield) before a winter storm. Here’s why:

Windshield wipers can easily freeze to the windshield, especially in an ice storm. If you try to use them while they’re still stuck, it can break the motor in them.

The wipers could even get damaged or broken from being frozen to the windshield if you try to get them out.

It’s also much easier to clean off the windshield with the wiper blades already up.
