Shouldn’t newborns have perfect hearing? Not necessarily. Having a newborn’s hearing checked is important to their development. Even if they can hear sounds, it may not be enough for proper language development. If hearing loss is discovered before they are 6 months, early intervention and treatment can be used and they have a better chance for normal language development.
