Hearing Loss Could Lead to Other Problems

7/31/2009

There are certain times in a child’s life when hearing screenings are performed. Detecting problems early is essential, especially in children, because speech and learning could be negatively impacted. According to WebMD, parents can expect hearing screenings with each well-child visit to a health professional. Additionally many schools routinely provide hearing tests when children first begin school. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a formal hearing test at ages 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15 and 18 years.
