Bel Voce, under the artistic leadership of Dr. Teresa Bowers is pleased to collaborate with the Carlisle Arts Learning Center to present Songs for Children: Hello, Sunflower and friends, a program of music, art and theatre especially for children. This years’ guest artist is award-winning mime, Michelle Wasik, who will excite both young and old through this classic form of movement and imagination.
Michelle Wasik, whose adventures with the likes of pirates, cowboys, baseball players and yes, singers, produces an enchanting afternoon of choral music and theatre. Following the concert, children join the staff at the Carlisle Arts Learning Center to make their own favorite character of the afternoon.
The performance will be held on Sunday, Sept. 27, 3 p.m. in St. John’s Episcopal Church, on the square, Carlisle. Admission is $5 adults; children are free.
Songs for Children was inaugurated in 2006 by Bel Voce as the area’s first choral program designed specifically for children. These multi-media collaborative concerts strive to entertain as well as provide an opportunity for children to embrace music and art at an early age.
