Searching for teens ages 14-17

Oct 18, 2012 - 08:15 AM

Do you know an outstanding young woman who makes a difference in her community every day through volunteer efforts? She could be the ideal candidate for the Violet Richardson Award.

The Soroptimist International of Harrisburg, Inc., a local business and professional women’s organization, is now accepting applications to honor young women ages 14-17 with this community service-based award.

The honoree could receive $500, half of which is automatically given to the volunteer organization to which she is dedicated to help promote their cause. Local winners become eligible for additional awards at the next level.

If you or someone you know is a good candidate, pick up an application for the award at local high school guidance offices in Dauphin County. Application deadline is Dec. 1, 2012.
