The Carlisle Barracks Oktoberfest is back and bigger than ever.

The annual festival full of traditional German food and fun has expanded to a three-day event this year and is being held Friday through Sunday at the Army Heritage and Education Center, 950 Soldiers Drive, Carlisle.

The free family event kicks off Friday from 4-11 p.m. with food, games, rides and music all night on the Rock-n-Red stage. The event continues Saturday from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. and features the annual 5K Volksmarch.

Registration for the Carlisle Barracks Volksmarch is from 8-11 a.m., and the walk ends at 3 p.m.

The festival wraps up Sunday from noon-6 p.m. with more music, food and fun. All weekend long visitors can enjoy the official 2013 War College Brew.
