Hurricane Sandy adjusts trick-or-treating for many towns
Hurricane Sandy came at a terrible time for children on the East Coast.
Although it hit two days prior to Halloween, many boroughs and municipalities have postponed or canceled trick-or-treating due to the storm. Here’s an updated schedule:
Cumberland County
Lower Allen, Middlesex and Upper Allen townships have postponed trick-or-treating to Saturday between 2-4 p.m. Carlisle and all other municipalities east of the city are going on as scheduled.
Dauphin County
Fortunately for kids in Dauphin, most areas already held trick-or-treating last Thursday. Hershey is going on as scheduled tonight. Millersburg has rescheduled to this Sunday from 2-4 p.m.
York County
The City of York, Dover, Dover Township, Jacobus, Spring Garden and West Manchester Township have canceled trick-or-treating. Conewago Township, East Manchester Township, Hopewell Township, Manchester, Mount Wolf and Stewartstown have postponed to Friday from 6-8 p.m. All others are to go on tonight as planned.
Lebanon County
The City of Lebanon, Cornwall, Mt. Gretna and Palmyra boroughs, North Lebanon, Bethel, North Londonderry, South Londonderry and West Cornwall townships have rescheduled for Thursday. Annville Township and Cleona, Jonestown and Myerstown boroughs have rescheduled for Nov. 7. Mill creek, Jackson, North Cornwall and South Lebanon townships and Richland Borough will trick-or-treat tonight as scheduled.
Lancaster County
All municipalities plan to go on with trick-or-treating tonight as scheduled.
