Got art?

Aug 28, 2012 - 07:40 AM

Art enthusiasts have a chance to purchase some new pieces while supporting a great cause.

Caitlin’s Smiles, a local nonprofit organization, will hold A Night of Smiles from 6-9 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Radisson Hotel in Camp Hill. Attendees can bid in a silent auction on art donated by local artists and some created by the children Caitlin’s Smiles helps.

The organization delivers “bags of smiles” to children with life-threatening or chronic illnesses in local hospitals. The bags are filled with coloring books, crayons, clay and other art supplies to help lift the spirits of the kids as they fight their illness.

“We hope to bring a smile to each child’s face as they take a moment to enjoy this therapeutic activity,” said Cheryl Hornung, founder of Caitlin’s Smiles.

All proceeds from A Night of Smiles will benefit Caitlin’s Smiles. Tickets can be purchased for $50 by contacting Cheryl at 717-412-4759 or at caitlins-smiles.org.
