Summer should be a time of play for your kids, a few months where they can stop sitting in classrooms in favor of a more active, fun lifestyle. But with so many things vying for children’s attention nowadays, your kids might head back inside in favor of watching TV, taking a nap or playing video games.
How can you avoid that and keep your child outside?
One way is to have a set time of the day for your kids to enjoy their screen time, preferably less than an hour. Make sure it’s not first thing in the morning, as this could set a dangerous precedent for the rest of the day.
Don’t be afraid to make them work for it. Reward your child’s hard work or good behavior with a bit of screen time. Have them see it as a token for their good faith, rather than something they’re entitled to.
