A Celtic Family Christmas

The Arts at Millersville has announced several performances for its upcoming 2019-2020 season. Tickets for the shows, which will be held at the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St. in Lancaster, and the Winter Center, 60 West College Avenue in Millersville, will go on sale on Thursday, August 1, 2019.

On September 6 from 6-8 p.m., the Arts at Millersville will host a season launch party in the Lyet Lobby of the Ware Center from 6-8 p.m. The event, which will be free and open to the public, will showcase the music, theater, dance, film and family-focused programming scheduled for the 2019-2020 season. Light refreshments will be served. From August 1 through the open house on September 6, tickets will be offered at special preseason prices.

The Arts at Millersville season includes the Performing Arts Series, featuring music of all genres, theatre and dance as well as Family Fun Fest events.

Fall season highlights

Opener: An Evening with Jake Shimabukuro
Thursday, September 19, 2019, 7:30 p.m.
Steinman Hall, Ware Center
Performing from his newest record, “The Greatest Day,” the evening will feature some of Jake’s most adventuresome ukulele playing yet. From artistic interpretations of Leonard Cohen’s iconic hymn “Hallelujah” and The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby” to originals.

Smile! A Cabaret with Broadway’s Rob McClure
Monday, September 30, 2019, 7:30 p.m.
Steinman Hall, Ware Center
Currently starring in the TONY-nominated hit musical, Beetlejuice, acclaimed TONY nominee Rob McClure (Chaplin) celebrates his unique influences through story and song.

Chanticleer
Wednesday, October 9, 2019, 7:30 p.m.
Biemesderfer Hall, Winter Center
GRAMMY award-winning ensemble Chanticleer — hailed as the “world’s reigning male chorus” —  celebrates over 41 years of performances with their seamless blend of 12 male voices and styles ranging from Renaissance to jazz and popular genres.

Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leahy: A Celtic Family Christmas
Thursday, December 12, 2019, 7:30 p.m.
Clair Hall, Winter Center
Pre-show lobby event: Paloma School of Irish Dance, 6:30 p.m.
The award-winning fiddle virtuosos, Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy provide an evening of both song and dance with a line-up of familiar Christmas and classic Celtic tunes by the duo and their children.
