The Hershey Story Museum

“Truffles for Couples” Evening Chocolate Lab Classfebruary
February 9, 10, 14, 16 & 17, 2018
6–7 p.m. and 8–9 p.m.
Bring your sweetheart or best friend to the Chocolate Lab at The Hershey Story Museum for an evening of decadence. Participants will hand-roll and coat rich, dark chocolate ganache in milk and white chocolate and finish with a sweet array of toppings. Each guest will package their truffles in a charming box and receive a fresh, long-stemmed red rose to take home. Participants will also enjoy learning about the courtship and marriage of Milton and Catherine Hershey as well as how chocolate is grown and processed. Classes are one hour in length. This class is most suitable for adults; $20 per person. Register online at HersheyStory.org.

Hershey’s Candy & Curiosities
February 17, 18, 19, 2018
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Kids can have fun learning the history of Hershey’s Kisses through interactive activities, such as hand wrapping and packing Kisses like workers did in the original factory. Families can also participate in a fun scavenger hunt and learn more about Hershey’s chocolate, Hershey the town, and Mr. Hershey himself. Participants will receive a sweet treat after the hunt, courtesy of The Hershey Company. Included in admission.

“The Heart of Chocolate” Chocolate Lab Class

Follow in Milton Hershey’s footsteps as you design your own heart-shaped milk chocolate confection. Choose ingredients for flavor, appearance and personal preference. Learn how Milton Hershey’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to create one of the world’s greatest chocolate businesses. Also learn how chocolate is grown and processed. This 45-minute class is suitable for adults and families with children ages four and up. (Ticket purchase required; check HersheyStory.org for daily class schedule; children must be 4 years old to enter the lab.)

“Try It with Truffles” Chocolate Lab Class
Offered in February
In his first business, Milton Hershey sold hand-made confections in dazzling varieties. Try your hand at creating your own hand-made truffles in this class. Hand-roll dark chocolate ganache, dip in chocolate and customize with a selection of toppings. This 45-minute class is suitable for adults and families with children ages 4 and up. (Ticket purchase required; check HersheyStory.org for daily class schedule; children must be four years old to enter the lab.)

Hershey Gardens

Guided Winter Walk Tours
Saturdays, 1 p.m.
Take a one-hour guided tour of the Gardens to experience its winter charm and learn about the natural history of the plants. Included in admission. (Subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.)

Cocoa Cart Conversations & Kids Craft
Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Feb. 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 and 25
A fun educational “cart” provides guests of all ages the opportunity to learn more about the cacao tree, a tropical tree whose pods produce the beans used to make chocolate. Get a close-up look at actual pods and beans harvested from the Butterfly Atrium’s cacao tree. Children are also welcome to decorate their own cacao pod to take home. Located in the Conservatory. Included in admission.

Sweet Scavenger Hunt

Daily in February from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Kids, venture on a scavenger hunt throughout the gardens and inside the Milton & Catherine Hershey Conservatory. Your reward? A sweet treat, of course! Included in admission.

Orchid Show and Sale

More than 1,000 orchids representing dozens of orchid varieties, including a variety that smells like chocolate, will be on display Friday, Feb. 2, through Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Milton & Catherine Hershey Conservatory at Hershey Gardens. The exhibit and sale is included in admission to Hershey Gardens.
